Roulette is a famous game recognized even by players that never set foot in casinos. The croupier spins a ball inside a spinning wheel, and the task of the player is to predict into which numbered slot the ball will come to rest.
There are many different types of roulette tables available, but the three most common ones are the European roulette table, the French roulette table and the American Roulette table. The European and the French roulette wheel have numbers in the span 036. The American Roulette also have numbers in the span 036, but with the addition of 00 – the double zero. This means that an American roulette wheel has 37 slots, while European and French wheels only have 36 slots.
At the roulette wheel, eighteen of the numbers in the span 136 are red while the other eighteen numbers are black. The zero is green, and if the wheel has a double zero that one is green too.
From a player’s perspective, the European and French roulette is better than the American, because the addition of the double zero gives the house a much larger edge (statistical advantage). That is why you almost always find the European and French versions in online roulette, also especially since most big online casinos are from Europe.
